I've seen merely good teams in fast moving water vastly outperform excellent teams in slow moving water. (Crap teams, sure, likely don't accomplish anything!)

While this may be true, you still have to execute extremely well. A crap team can't grow in a fast-moving environment either, surely, they collapse?
